Why I succumbed to the blog

Having just finished the first class of FIT's MFA Bridge program, which happened to be a wonderful intensive painting class (four nights a week!) taught by the excellent Peter Cusack, I'm feeling energized and inspired. This was an exciting class, particularly because I haven't painted in oils since I started working digitally and it was a great opportunity to dive in and get my hands dirty. Each week we completed about three paintings, including homework assignments. But after class was over, I wondered if I could still keep up the momentum of the class and keep my oils from collecting dust. That's where this blog comes in. My goal is to do at least one painting a week and post it. I think that if I make such a grand proposal via public venue, I will be forced to honor it, right? Here goes nothin'...

(Above are a few of my paintings from the class)

  1. I love that you've started a blog! Your paintings are wonderful, and it's going to be so nice to have one to look forward to every week.

These paintings from Peter's class are all lovely. They are beautifully painted and each of them is so emotive. Can't wait to see what you post next.
